Docrate1 - Vol.25 - 10 Dancing songs

People who know me know I'm not the dancing type. more precisely, the vision of me dancing is either a portent of the apocalypse, or the people are hallucinating hard.

That or I'm having seizures.

Hence the choice of picking 10 songs that I don't dance to, but that are about dance and I find enjoyable. Close enough.

Docrate1 - Vol.12 - Shadowrun

And finally, finally, after a few dozens different concepts, and variations, and ideas, here come vol.12. It's Shadowrun - The movie that never was. I wanted to give this the feel a shadowrun movie would have had if it had been done in the 80s, hence : synths. lotsa synths. It doubles as an artist mixtape, as all songs except one are from the same artist.

Docrate1 - Vol.29 : Child fears

Not being american (or even anglo-saxon in general) has one major downside when octobers come: Halloween is, at best, a foreign concept to me. So I went with my love of film scores and tried to arrange ten tracks in a relatively coherent way to create the score of a non-existing movie called "Child fears", about a demon that feeds on children's...well...fears. not very original, I know. the upside is that this is volume 1: I have more than one halloween tale to tell, so more to come...

10 songs vol.28 - Ten songs to laugh to

This one wasn't easy, as most of my "fun" stuff is in french. in other words...you're warned. Also, once again I take liberties with the 10 song rules: there are twelve tracks. 3 of which are one song. DWI :^)

Tracklist:

1. Monty Python - "Camelot" (1:34)
2. Weird Al Yankovic - Another One Rides The Bus (2:40)
3. Pen of Chaos - A l'aventure, compagnons (2:55)
4. David TMX - the glory hole (1:24)
5. Animaniacs - All The Words In The English Language (Part 1) (1:01)
6. David TMX - Plus jamais en Bretagne (3:30)
7. H.Grönemeyer - Currywurst (2:00)
8. Animaniacs - All The Words In The English Language (Part 2) (1:13)
9. Pen of Chaos - Marche Barbare (3:29)
10. Les inconnus - c'est toi que je t'aime (2:24)
11. Reflets d'acides - POM (1:33)
12. Animaniacs - All The Words In The English Language (Part 3) (1:00)

Docrate1 - Vol. 26 : Mother Approved

And here's volume 26. As my mother is pretty much my whole family, having no siblings and very little contact with the other branches of the family tree, and considering we have quite different tastes as far as music go, it was from a very restricted list that I drew this ten songs.

Surprisingly, two come from japanese anime. go figure.

Docrate1 - Vol.31 - Ten songs: Heroes of my childhood

1. Hans Zimmer & Nick Glennie-Smith (and probably Harry Gregson Williams too) - Alpha Base/Spare no one/Cobra gets the virus (8:06)
2. Clint Mansell - Hawk discovers Alpha base (8:04)
3. Harry Gregson Williams - Cobra Island (3:25)
4. Harry Gregson Williams/Soundtrack - Snakes in the Pit (1:55)
5. Brian Tyler - Hunting down Venom (9:52)
6. X-Ray Dog - 50 years ago they tried to destroy the world (3:34)
7. Yuji Toriyama, Tetsuya Komura - The Iron army (4:42)
8. Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe - The last battle (7:51)
9. John Powell - krieger's demise - Iron Army's base destroyed (4:21)
10. Norman Corbeil - Finale (1:55)

A bit of explanation ? As a kid I used to mash up toys universe as I played with them. Gijoe occured in the same world as Mask, Transformers or Starcom. If I only kept Mask and the Joes here, it's mainly because they were my favorites. As for the Iron Army, it's an entity that should have been the bad guy in "Sgt Savage and the screaming eagles", a GI joe spin off that never went further than its pilot. the toys were cool, though, and Krieger being the man behind Cobra had a lot of appeal.

And yes. lots of Zimmer/Media Venture. it fits. Deal with it :169:
