CUCKOO - volume XXXI - HAUNTED [ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK]

When I was 12 years old British novelist James Herbert's Haunted was my first venture into reading horror outside of Stephen King.
I've always loved ghost stories and this was right down my alley.  By today's standards it's nothing special but as a wide-eyed wee lad it was spectacular, scary, sad and incredibly atmospheric.  I must have read it 20 times and with each time I would imagine it in my head as a film, with actors cast and everything.  This is my best representation of what the score would sound like.  I'm fully aware there was a film adaptation in teh mid-90's but I have yet to see it or hear Debbie Wiseman's score because I don't want to be disappointed.  Hopefully you'll imagine your own ghost story in your head as you listen.

STS Vol. 31: Fake OST II - The Runaway Robot

The Runaway Robot was the very first science fiction novel I ever read. Even as a small child, and years before I chose to pursue filmmaking, it struck me as a natural for the moving image. Too difficult to make then, and too dated to make now, it lives on in my imagination, tied with the time I read it.

A bit of explanation ? As a kid I used to mash up toys universe as I played with them. Gijoe occured in the same world as Mask, Transformers or Starcom. If I only kept Mask and the Joes here, it's mainly because they were my favorites. As for the Iron Army, it's an entity that should have been the bad guy in "Sgt Savage and the screaming eagles", a GI joe spin off that never went further than its pilot. the toys were cool, though, and Krieger being the man behind Cobra had a lot of appeal.

And yes. lots of Zimmer/Media Venture. it fits. Deal with it :169:
